Parish Choir

Our parish choir is comprised of highly committed volunteer singers, supported by professional section leaders. This group sings the Sunday 10:00 am service of Holy Eucharist year-round, in addition to services of Choral Evensong, weddings and funerals, Lessons & Carols, and other feasts and fasts during the season. They sing music drawn from many periods in history and honoring current-day composers, with an emphasis on music from the Anglican choral tradition. The Parish Choir maintains weekly rehearsals throughout the season (September through May) and is happy to welcome new members at any time.

Choristers

The 2026-27 Chorister program at Epiphany is for children with unchanged voices in grades 2-8. This program provides professional musical training to children in a challenging and fun environment at no financial cost (in fact, all choristers receive a modest monetary stipend). Previous musical experience and religious affiliation aren’t necessary for admission. This choir rehearses on Wednesdays during the school year, and sings as scheduled at services and concerts throughout the season. For more information or to arrange a brief vocal evaluation for your child, please reach out to Director of Music Jeremy Bruns.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.

Organs & Instruments

Sanctuary Pipe Organ
Built in 1973 by the C.B. Fisk organ company of Gloucester, Massachusetts, the sanctuary pipe organ, Opus 65, stands in the gallery at the rear of the sanctuary. It houses 19 stops and 27 ranks of pipes, from the delicate Chimney Flute to the powerful 16’ Bassoon pedal stop. The sanctuary organ is an integral part of our worship and musical life together. It accompanies choir anthems, inspires congregational singing, and greets and sends us with moving preludes and postludes.

Upper Parish Hall Grand Piano
Given in memory of Steve Lewis (1939-2005), our 1980 Yamaha C5X grand piano provides the musical foundation for our Parish Choir rehearsals each week. On Sunday mornings our youngest parishioners gather around the piano in Upper Parish Hall during Sunday School. And our most intimate Community Concerts enjoy the excellent acoustics and historic setting with this professional concert grand piano.

Hadley Hall Grand Piano
Our 1901 Steinway Model O grand piano has so much history. Fully restored, this exquisite instrument lives in Hadley Hall, our largest event space. Whether it’s opening our annual meeting with a hymn, providing dinner music during Midweek, accompanying our Community Concerts, or any number of other occasions, this piano provides us with so much beautiful music. A gift from our former music director, this piano brings us together to make beautiful music just as Craig Benner did!

Sanctuary Upright Piano
Located in the quire of the chancel, our 1999 Yamaha U1 upright piano provides the accompaniment for some of our most intimate worship moments. Equally at home accompanying a meditative choir anthem during communion, or a rousing Christmas carol during the children’s pageant, this piano at the front of the sanctuary nicely complements our mighty pipe organ at the back.

Special Music

Throughout the year, we offer special music programs and invite distinguished musicians to perform. Music is an important part of Epiphany and we hope you will join us for these events!

Please see our 2026 Winter/Spring Concerts and Special Services Booklet for more details.

Friends of Music

The music at Parish of the Epiphany exists because of the generosity of parishioners, as well as that of outside supporters. Please do consider becoming a valued Friends of Music donor here at Epiphany.

Friends of Music donations go into the Music Fund, which is used to supplement our music ministry. This fund enables us to offer special services such as Choral Evensong and Lessons & Carols, concerts both sacred and secular, and allows us to supplement festival services, all of this offered freely to the Glory of God and for the enrichment of the parish and larger community.

Friends of Music donors will, if they wish, be acknowledged in the printed programs of concerts and special services throughout the season. We welcome donations of any amount at any time. Your gift helps ensure that we are able to offer our very best back to God and to the community. Please consider giving today toward the vitality of our music ministry for tomorrow, a ministry which supports our passion to invite, welcome, and connect the larger community to our life here at Epiphany. The donation form can be printed out and submitted via mail or e-mail. Online donations are also possible, choosing the “Music Donations” option in the drop-down menu (please do still complete and return the donation form). Many thanks for your support!
