Baptism

It is said that baptism is faith in action. We will celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on the following dates during the upcoming year:

  • Rally Sunday (Sunday after Labor Day weekend) — Sunday, September 13, 2026
  • All Saints’ Day (first Sunday in November) — Sunday, November 1, 2026
  • Baptism of our Lord — January 10, 2027
  • Laetare Sunday (4th Sunday of Lent) — Sunday, March 7, 2027
  • The Great Vigil of Easter — Saturday, March 27, 2027 at 7:30 pm
  • The Day of Pentecost — Sunday, May 16, 2027

Our clergy and formation staff enjoy preparing parents and godparents to make the baptism of children a primary part of their own faith formation. We usually meet with parents and godparents before the baptism so that families can get acquainted with each other, learn about baptism, and participate in a rehearsal for the worship service. Baptism of adults who wish to receive the sacrament is also performed.

To apply for baptism at the Parish of the Epiphany, please submit the online form below and a member of our team will follow up with you.

For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Funerals

Along with support and fellowship in times of grief, the Parish of the Epiphany is available for memorial services or funerals of parishioners and their families. Our parish also welcomes non-members who request the use of our parish and parish hall provided the dates and times are available.

If you have questions, or would like to schedule a funeral or memorial service, please contact the Parish Office or call 781-729-1922.

Memorial Garden
Within the Cloister Garden, a place of rest and contemplation, lies the Memorial Garden — a tranquil space for interment of ashes of former parishioners. The names of those interred are listed on plaque boards in the hall across from the acolyte robing room. Ongoing gifts are appreciated to assist with the maintenance of the Memorial Garden.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

Weddings

Just as baptism is a new beginning, holy matrimony is also the start of a journey together in faith. The Parish of the Epiphany is delighted to provide wedding services for members of the church and their families. In addition to the wedding ceremony, the parish’s facilities can be rented for wedding receptions.

All arrangements for your wedding at The Parish of the Epiphany begin by completing the online form below. Clergy will reach out to schedule a time to meet with you to discuss a date for your wedding, and to schedule at least three premarital counseling sessions between you and the officiating clergyperson. If you have any questions, please contact the Parish Office or 781-729-1922.

Wedding FAQs

Are you baptized?

Although we welcome all people at Epiphany, at least one of the persons to be married must have received Holy Baptism. The Episcopal Church accepts the baptism of any Christian tradition, which baptizes in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. If you’re not baptized, a member of the clergy would be happy to prepare you to receive this sacrament before you are married.

Premarital Counseling with the Clergy

We meet with all couples for a minimum of four hours, generally meeting for three or four sessions, to help prepare them for their new life together.

Receptions

Hadley Hall, Epiphany’s parish hall, may be used for a reception following the service. For more accessibility information, please click here.

Preparing a Program

The Order of Service generally follows The Celebration and Blessing of A Marriage Service in the Book of Common Prayer. The service should be discussed with the clergy person officiating. Decisions regarding readings, hymns, psalms, and other particulars to the service are made at this time. If desired, a program will then be made up describing the order of service.

Music

Wedding music is planned by the bride and groom in consultation with the Director of Music and Organist. While the bridal couple may make specific requests, Holy Matrimony is a service of the church, and the music needs to be appropriate for such an event.

Seating

From quiet family weddings to larger affairs, the Parish of the Epiphany is happy to accommodate your needs. The chapel comfortably seats 35 people, and the church holds up to 400 guests.

Assisting and Visiting Clergy

The Rector is always glad to make the facilities of Epiphany available to other clergy for the conducting of Marriage services. Please make arrangements with the Rector.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
