A Hoosier by birth, Nick grew up in northern Indiana and spent many of his summers exploring the family’s farm or suffering long road trips to far too many historic battle sites. He attended Wabash College, Yale Divinity School, and McCormick Theological Seminary, where he received his Doctor of Ministry. Nick has served parishes in Virginia, Indiana, Colorado, and now, Massachusetts. Nick is married to Bethany who works as a Social Worker at MGH, and they have two children. He enjoys tennis, running, camping, hiking, and fly-fishing. While his bedside table is full of many unread books, he enjoys reading a great novel, but spends most of his time exploring history and current events nonfiction.

Janelle served as the Associate for Youth and Community Partnerships at Epiphany since the summer of 2022 and in 2026 she became Associate Rector. This means she especially gets to cheer on the tweens and teens at Epiphany and help support social justice efforts through our Journey to Justice (J2J) community. This is meaningful to her as she believes that, at their best, churches should be places of radical welcome for young people and good news in their communities.

Originally from San Diego, California, she has also found home in Nashville, Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia. She is a graphic designer turned priest and has  B.A in Graphic Design from Point Loma Nazarene University and an M.Div. from Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

She enjoys wandering around thrift stores, drinking tea, and since moving to Boston, she has enjoyed learning boxing. Her husband, Peter, is a public defense attorney in New Hampshire, and she lives in Arlington with Peter and their very cute Clumber Spaniel, Mochi.

Clayton is a postulant for the priesthood completing a Master of Divinity at the General Theological Seminary. A native Texan, Clayton grew up Methodist and embraces a Wesleyan passion for God’s free grace and faith as a matter of both head and heart. He came to the Episcopal Church in college, drawn by the beauty of the Anglican choral and liturgical tradition.

A former Fulbright Journalism Scholar, Clayton began his career as a Europe-based staff writer, reporting from over a dozen countries for The Dallas Morning News. In 2013, he joined the U.S. Department of State as a Presidential Management Fellow and served in multiple roles across the Federal government, including Ukraine Country Director in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Spokesperson for the U.S. Agency for International Development. He now works at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership as Director of Engagement and External Relations. He also serves on the boards of the Gibson House Museum, Boston University Marsh Chapel, and the Lake Placid Sinfonietta. He holds a MSc in History from the London School of Economics and a BA in International Affairs and German from the George Washington University.

He and his fiancé, Jonathan Ortloff, a pipe organ builder and organist, live in Boston’s South End with their Golden Retriever and Shetland Sheepdog. They share a love of music, history, and spending as much time as they can at the family cabin in Lake Placid.

Named “a coolly aristocratic player” by The Dallas Morning News, Jeremy S. Bruns has been heard on the nationally syndicated radio show Pipedreams, BBC Radio, and the Pro Organo label. He has been featured at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston SC and has performed numerous recitals with engagements including St. Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey in London, Canterbury Cathedral, Washington National Cathedral, St. James’ Cathedral in Toronto, Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, Methuen Memorial Music Hall, St. Paul Cathedral and Heinz Memorial Chapel in Pittsburgh, Adolphus Busch Hall, and the Fasor Reformed Church in Budapest, Hungary.

As a church musician, Bruns has held positions in Boston MA, Pittsburgh PA and other locations, including three years as Associate Organist of Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, where he worked daily with the late John Scott and the Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys. He has also served as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches TX. He studied with David Higgs at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY, earning the M.Mus. and the Performer’s Certificate. Mr. Bruns is a past Dean of the Boston Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and currently chairs the chapter’s Young Organist Initiative. Hobbies include outdoor walking and very amateur bird watching.

Bryn joined the Epiphany staff in 2019 to help for “a few weeks” during an interim, and quickly discovered that she had found her calling. A former college professor and homeschool mom, by turns, Bryn is originally from the farm country of northern New York State. She received her BA from Skidmore College and her MA and PhD from the University of Delaware, where her doctoral degree focused on childhood in American culture. She brings her passion for child development, her outrageous love of time with her own children, her drive to create (whether crafts or new programs), and her commitment to intergenerational life in community to her role as Director of Children’s Ministries and Parish Life. You can find Bryn cuddling babies, teaching Church School, rallying volunteers, organizing Midweek, gathering parent small groups, planning parish retreats, and generally zipping around the church looking for people to laugh with.

Bryn is married to Corey, who you can wave to in our choir. They have two amazing children (now in middle and high school) who are active at Epiphany, and their family lives in Arlington with their tiny floof of a dog, Sylvie.

Heather received her Masters in Public Health from Boston University and spent 18 years in the health insurance and health care sector. It was in the roles of program management, compliance, and contract negotiation/management where she developed the superpowers to take a complex problem, understand its detailed parts, and distill a solution built on consensus.

At Epiphany, Heather is responsible for reimagining our current model for church administration. As Epiphany continues to grow and our life together becomes more complex, she will empower both staff and lay leaders to realize the unfolding mission of our thriving parish.

A life-long Episcopalian, Heather lives in Arlington with her family who are active at Epiphany. You will frequently find Heather accompanied by a service-dog-in-training, a volunteer hobby that keeps her in the moment and forces her away from deskwork.

Kathryn joined the Parish of the Epiphany staff in April 2021, and currently serves as our Communications Administrator remotely from Colorado. She has over a decade of experience in church administration, and previously worked on a Centers for Disease Control initiative in child abuse prevention.

A Wisconsin native, Kathryn graduated from Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. She now lives in Denver with her husband Noel and infant son James. In her free time, Kathryn enjoys classic film, reading, exploring museums, and walking.

Pat is a lifelong Arlington resident where she is very happy living in a converted schoolhouse condo with her cat Molly. She has enjoyed a warm welcome at Epiphany since joining the staff in December 2023 and is happy to help with questions about your giving statements, reimbursements, and other finance related matters. She loves traveling and in the last few years has been to such places as our Southwestern National Parks, to the Greek Islands, and on safari in South Africa and Botswana.

When home, she loves exploring local trails, going to the theater, volunteering, and watching tennis and the Red Sox.

Tony joined the staff as our sexton in 2023, and has valued being a part of the Epiphany family. He enjoys football, music, cooking, and his family, and believes there is a seat at the table for everyone.
